Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly
in recognition of some of the 'greats' of history. Juan Pujal, born on Valentine's Day 1912 served in the Spanish Civil War and turned into an anti Nazi. During World War II he came to Britain's aid as a false German spy willing to act as a double agent. This, he did so well that his deceptions played a major part in the success of the D-Day landings. For his services, Germany awarded him the Iron Cross and Britain the MBE. However after his death and the unmasking of his close friend Anthony Blunt, it was suspected that he could also have been a triple agent. |
